Ogoja Zonal ANCOPSS honors Amanke and Idagwu, pledges unrelenting support.

The Cross River State Commissioner for quality education, Dr. Godwin Amanke and the Chairman, Secondary Education Board, Mr. Ebe Idagwu were on Saturday February 29 hosted to a sumptuous reception by All Nigerian Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools, Ogoja zone.

The event which took place at Government Secondary School, Igoli – Ogoja had in attendance principals of schools in the five local government areas.

The Chairman of ANCOPSS Ogoja zone, Mr. Joseph Ejue felicitated the duo of Dr. Amanke and Mr. Idagwu on their meritorious appointments and noted that their appointments were timely as the educational sector had suffered some setbacks and needed men with the right educational background and connect to reposition the sector.

Ejue held that “with your wealth of experience in the educational sector and as a seasoned administrator, we are confident that most of the ills that has bedeviled the sector will be streamlined and the standard of education will be restored.

“I know that as Chairman of Commissioners for Education in Nigeria, your dream is to make Cross River State take the lead in quality education in the federation”

Ejue used the opportunity to pledge Ogoja zonal  ANCOPSS support for both the Commissioner and the Board Chairman to enable them realize their dreams and goals as streamlined in the agenda of their administration.

Responding, the Chairman, Secondary Education Board, Mr. Ebe Idagwu thanked ANCOPSS, Ogoja zone for the warm and sumptuous reception accorded the Commissioner and himself.

Idagwu used the occasion to commend the untiring contributions of ANCOPSS and the field soldiers the teachers in impacting the needed knowledge to the next generation and assured them that as principals, they will get all their due.

On his part, the Commissioner for quality education, Dr. Godwin Amanke expressed his heart felt gratitude to ANCOPSS Ogoja zone for the honor done him and posited that “this is the first reception that I and the board chairman are attending. All your challenges will be communicated to the governor who  will respond promptly to enable you carry out your duties effectively”

Highlights of the event were welcome song, cultural display by students and conferment of awards on the principal of Igbeku Comprehensive Secondary School, Imaje, Yala local government area whose students performed exceptionally during the event, as well as Principal of Girls Secondary School, Obudu for their outstanding performance in national competition last year.
