    Obudu PDP Chairmanship Candidate, Bonny Eweh Casts His Vote Commends The Electorates For The Show Of Love

    The Chairmanship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party PDP, Obuduc local government council, Mr. Bonny Eraye has commended the good people of Obudu for the love and support they have demonstrated right from when he was handed the flag of the PDP, and noted that this magnanimity will sure be reciprocated.

    Eraye disclosed this to THELUMINENEWS at his polling unit, shortly after he casted his vote alongside his wife.

    Eraye maintained that “I want to thank all those who have come out to exercise their civil responsibilities in participating in this election, the process cannot be complete without the electorates.

    “Like you can see, we have decided that the people should come out in batches to enable strict compliance with the regulations of the Covid 19 procedures, as soon as these persons have finished voting, others will come out.

    “Voting here is peaceful and I have received calls from other polling units too that people turn out for the election, this however will encourage the electorates to take ownership of the process”

    Responding to the challenge of some persons not being able to turn out for the election due to the lockdown still in effect is some of the states of the federation, Eraye held that “If you turn to to your right, you could see those guys there, some traveled from Abuja, others from Enugu and other parts of the country. It is an issue of self consideration, irrespective of the time for this election, those who want to come, those will not want to come, will not come.

    “I want to use this opportunity to thank the governor of Cross River State, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade, for his unwavering support, the all those who stood by us to this day and after the election to when the mantle of leadership will be conferred on us, I pray God Almighty to continue to grant us his grace as always”

    On his part, the member representing Obudu State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon. Godwin Akwaji, after casting his vote held “we have come out massively to vote for our candidates of the People’s Democratic Party PDP. As usual, Utugwang South in known for its unity of purpose, we speak with one voice even in the face of no party party participating in the election in Obudu”

    The Commissioner for Robotic and Artificial Intelligence, Engr. Mike Eraye held that “we are particularly grateful because, the councillorship candidate is our daughter, and the chairmanship candidate is our son. Our joy knows no bounds.

    “We want to thank everybody across the local government who came out to vote for our candidates. We wish them the best as we look forward to have them mount their positions as councillors and chairman of Obudu local government council”

    In another development, the member, Science and Technical Board, Mr. Dominic Okwor commended the process and orderliness of the electorates during the election and held that “the election is going on smoothly without chaos or any form of social malady. I want to commend their disposition. For us, we have come to show our support for our candidates using the ballot box.

    “Let me call on other polling units to adopt our system where everyone will be conscious of that fact that election is not war or physical fight”

    The Special Assistant to Governor Ben Ayade on Agric Obudu, and a supporter of the chairmanship candidate, Mr. Mathias E. Okwor stated posited that “we are not oblivion of our chairman’s benevolence and goodwill, he has shown capacity beyond measures comparison. His call to service is yet another opportunity to expand his scope of operation. We are solidly behind him and will continue to give him the support he needs to serve his people to the best of his ability with God as his guide”

    The councillorship candidate for Utugwang North, Ms. Theresa Ushie after casting her vote, commended the support of her constituents and promised to give her best to represent her ward effectively.

    Amanke Calls On STEB To Appraise Curriculum For The Development Of CRS Children

    The Commissioner for Quality Education, Dr. Godwin Amanke has called on Members of Science and Technical Board STEB, to be more committed in the appraisal of the curriculum for science and technical schools in the state to ensure proper development of children in cross river sate in line with global best practices.

    Amanke made the call during the inauguration of the board at his office in Calabar, the cross river state capital on Thursday, 28th May, 2020.

    “As part of your functions as contained in the edit that established Science and Technical Board, to supervise, monitor and appraise the system. I charge you to concentrate and appraise the curriculum in the state to ensure proper development of our children in line with global best practices.

    “I want to congratulate you on behalf of the Governor and charge you to justify the confidence reposed on you by Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade.

    “Your careful selection has placed greater responsibility on you, on behalf of the ministry, we charge you to uphold the mandate of your board and I’m sure you will discharge your duties in line with the oath you have just taken.

    Responding on behalf of the board members, the Executive Secretary of the board, Mr. Linus Adie thanked the Governor for finding them worthy to serve the state and promised their unallowed commitment to reposition science and technical schools in the state in line with the mandate of the board.

    With the inauguration of this board which is third with State Universal Basic Education Board SUBEB and Secondary Education Board SEB, being the first and second on the roll within two weeks.

    Amanke hinted that the next will be all Special Assistants on Education, which date will be communicated appropriately.

    Highlight of the inauguration was the oat taking, signing of the register and group photograph.
