CRS PDP Governorship Candidate, Sen Sandy Onor Dedicates Victory To All Cross Riverians

MY VICTORY IS FOR THE GOOD OF ALL CROSS RIVERIANS

On Thursday, May 26 2022, delegates of the Peoples Democratic Party from all the three senatorial districts of our state made a loud and clear statement, availing me their mandate as their preferred flagbearer for the 2023 governorship election in Cross River State.

It was a keen contest by all standards and in such contests, it is always expected that only one winner would emerge. Nevertheless, I must boldly make the point that even as the mandate was specifically handed to me, we are all winners.

I have slept over what happened before and on that day and have come to the conclusion that it was neither a race for the swift nor a battle for the strong but it was God Himself that made it possible for me to emerge winner. I therefore thank the Almighty for finding me worthy to be that instrument that He will use to take our state back to the path of honour and pride.

I am even more humbled at the maturity and sportsmanship displayed by all the aspirants, especially the major contenders for the governorship ticket -Senator Gershom Bassey and Rt. Hon Ntufam Daniel Asuquo. My respect for them has soared and I am sure they have also earned the respect of, not just our party members, but also the generality of the people of Cross River State. I celebrate them for displaying their love for our party and state. By publicly acknowledging the transparency of the entire electoral processes and congratulating me on the victory immediately after the exercise, I doff my hat for them. They have become heroes in our common struggle for the greater good of our state. By their collective action, they have jointly deepened the integrity of our party across the entire state and shown that together, we can truly move this state forward.

I must also thank and commend the electoral panel for the display of extreme transparency in the conduct of the primary election. The panel was made of men and women of impeccable character who came to Cross River to show that transparent accountability is possible in the conduct of electoral exercises. They were not just transparent and sincere but were also seen by all to be so. They gave a very good account of themselves.

Let me thank our party, the PDP, for allowing a level playing field for everyone.
Our leaders were excellently wonderful. I therefore wish to particularly thank our former governors- Mr Donald Duke and Senator Liyel Imoke-for being true leaders. They showed class, character and purpose as they guided all of us throughout the entire processes. The same appreciation goes to our national woman leader, Professor Stella Attoe and other PDP leaders at all levels who were also there for us, ensuring that we have a peaceful and successful primary election.

Before and after my election as the PDP flagbearer, other party members got their tickets for various positions. I commend and congratulate all of them. They have become partners in progress and together, we will take our state to a higher place.

I am not unaware of the enormous responsibility ahead of me as the candidate of the best political party in our state and in Nigeria. Therefore, on my honour, I promise to guard this mandate jealously. I will provide purposeful leadership and do only those things that will invigorate our commonality and strengthen our desire for a better Cross River State where everybody, irrespective of language, local government, federal constituency and senatorial district will become a stakeholder and beneficiary of our programmes and projects. I have always said that I am in this race for the good of all the people and I stand by that.

As we look ahead to the general elections, I enjoin all lovers of peace and development to get ready to join us as we bulldoze everywhere in a bid to reposition our state and restore her lost glory. I am actually in a hurry to restore the dignity of our state and will be glad and honoured to have all patriotic Cross Riverians with us to enable us reclaim the state with ease. Let us shun everything that will divide us along ethnic lines. Let us stop every attempt to balkanise our state along the lines of primordial sentiments. Wherever you may come from, it is important to see yourself first as a Cross Riverian. This way, we will rediscover ourselves and will be bound by one purpose, one vision and one focus.

A new and better Cross River is possible. Let’s make it happen.
    May God bless us all.

    Signed
    Senator Sandy Ojang Onor
    PDP Governorship Candidate
    Cross River State

Caterpillar Movement Debunks Rumors Of Sandy Onor Picking Senatorial Form, Called On Supporters To Remain Unperturbed

    CATERPILLAR MOVEMENT

    PRESS STATEMENT

We, in the Caterpillar Movement have come across a fictitious newstory by one Citizen Ekanem Essien purporting that our Principal, Sen. Sandy Ojang Onor has ” technically withdrawn ” from the Gubernatorial contest by picking dual forms for both the Gubernatorial and senatorial elections as a contingency in the event of failure.

We wish to outrightly debunk this malicious rumor by stating that Sen. Sandy Ojang Onor has never been one to shy away from a fight, especially one that is done with the public interest at heart.

Furthermore, Our principal, Sen. Onor would never venture into a course with double minds or cold feet to the extent of cowering by attempting to contest for two positions at once.

For the records, we wish to state clearly that only the Gubernatorial Nomination form was purchased by our Principal because he believes strongly in his credentials, competence and capacity to emerge victorious. The unwholesome act of buying two forms at a time is a practice set aside for losers to showcase their cowardice by being unsure about their political aspiration.

Our Principal is decisive, precise and Lucid enough about his intentions to rescue Cross River state from the shackles of maladministration currently experienced and is therefore reticent to subscribe to political gimmicks.

Let those who are cowards continue to be indecisive and at a quandary but we in the Caterpillar Movement are solely only interested in the Gubernatorial Position. We are confident that victory is sure.
Once more, we enjoin our supporters to continue to remain peaceful and unperturbed by this deliberate distraction by the true enemies of our dear State .
Again they have failed and will continue to fail.

    God bless us all.

    Joe Obi Bisong (Hon. Chief)

Caterpillar Movement Describes A Non-existent Online Poll By Delegates Of The PDP In C’River For The Gubernatorial Primaries As Misleading And False Graphic Presentation

    THE CATERPILLAR MOVEMENT

    Press Release

Our attention has been drawn to a spurious,
misleading and false graphic presentation on social media detailing a non-existent online poll by delegates of the PDP in Cross River State for the Gubernatorial Primaries.

As we all know, elections have never been won from social media postulations and ” online polls” but in the interest of full disclosure, we in the Caterpillar Movement wish to state categorically and emphatically that the circulated graphic is nothing but a figment of the imagination of a particular political interest group skewed heavily to favour their candidate while at the same time attempting to create a psychological mind game on the mind of delegates in the party to think that they have some phantom advantage when in truth, our Principal, Sen. Prof. Sandy Ojang Onor is , by every standard, the leading and preeminent candidate for the position of party flagbearer.

We believe that this fantasy, packaged as an online poll is nothing but the last kick of an obviously dying horse hell-bent on not only destabilizing our well meaning party delegates but also on being bad losers since it has become obvious that their aspiration shall not see the light of day.

Accordingly, we urge all our teeming supporters to remain calm and unperturbed by this false development while also urging them to continue to spread the gospel of our Principal and his intentions to liberate the state from this current chokehold.
It is our belief that come May 21st, we shall emerge victorious at the only real and legitimate polls available to us; The PDP Gubernatorial Primary Election.

    God bless the PDP
    God bless Cross River State
    God bless the Caterpillar Movement.

Reclaim Cross River Took The Initiative To Purchase Nomination Form For Sen Sandy Onor Because He Has The Pedigree To Take Cross River Out From The Doldrums Of Maladministration – Paul Ishabor

    By Elijah Ugani

The Director General of the Reclaim Cross River, Paul Ishabor Esq, has stated that the group decided to purchase the expression of intent form for Sen Sandy Onor to actualize his dream to reclaim Cross River State from the doldrums of maladministration and return it to the path of growth and development.

Ishabor disclosed this to TheLumineNews on a telephone call.

His words “The dream to reclaim Cross River is meant to take Cross River State back from the doldrums of maladministration and return Cross River State to the part of growth and development.

“And we found out that the only person who can do the job among those who have come out to aspire to lead us is Distinguished Sen Sandy Ojang Onor. He has the pedigree, he has the intellect, he has integrity, he has character and he has the institutional memory that can galvanize the needed support from those who mean well for Cross River State and bring us back to the path of growth and development.

“We are happy that we took the initiative to purchase the expression of interest and nomination form for him as Reclaim Cross River.

“As the Director General of Reclaim Cross River, I want to commend particularly the Board of Trustees Chairman, Mr John George, and all members of the group for our enormous support and contribution for the actualization of today”

The DG noted that “the journey to reclaim Cross River was signaled by the judgement of the Federal High Court which took back our 18 House Assembly and two Federal House of Representative seats which the present administration felt that it was within their capracises to decide on”

Ishabor used the opportunity to call on all lovers of Cross River State who are still undecided to come to terms with the fact that Cross River State is already ran underground, and we need to reclaim the state. “The umbrella is big enough to accommodate every Cross Riverian of goodwill, who has the right vision. Politics is a game of number. Our doors will be opened between now and 2023 to welcome Cross Riverians of all works of life into our fold to ensure that we actualize our dreams” He added.

  • Sandy Onor To Run A Participatory Government

Sandy Onor To Run A Participatory Government

    By Amaechi Victor

Democracy is often defined in the words of Abraham Lincoln as “Government of the people, by the people, and for the people. It is indeed a system of Government which gives power to the people as they not only choose those who preside over their affairs but are also expected to be active participants in the managing of their collective affairs towards the good of all. It is therefore no wonder that a society like ours as it is today, cannot in all truthfulness, be defined as a democratic society. A society where power belongs to a few cabal who dispenses such as they deem fit just as every conscious effort is made to deny the people freedom of speech in the running of their own affairs; cannot qualify as a democratic society. Can the people be exonerated from any blame towards this ugly situation?

When we as a people for whatever reason fail to ask the right questions towards the pedigree and intent of those who seek to preside over our affairs; when avarice and wanton materialism make us settle for less than the best in choosing our leaders; when we allow sentiments to becloud our sense of accurate judgements; when we are complacent in the manner is which our affairs are handled: the result no doubt, would be bad leadership with all its attendant maladies such as those prevalent in our National and State Governments. For how long shall this dangerous dive towards the very lowest ebb of acclaimed leadership continue? For how long shall the people continue to wallow in compromise, ignorance and darkness? Who is that leader that would take the lead towards returning power to the people thus letting them witness first hand, the very many great potentials that they possess and how such can be harnessed for the good of the Society?

Cross River, our dear State is a State blessed with unprecedented natural and human resources waiting to be tapped. A State of great minds in various fields of endeavour such that can be harnessed to bring about a mind-blowing development in the history of our Country. Why then, has ours remained a laughing stock in the comity of States, a complete shadow of itself? The answer is simple; there has not been a participatory Government engineered by a credible Leader with some sincerity of purpose towards harnessing our abundant human resources for the development of our State. This terrible situation no doubt brought about a total lack of confidence in Government hence, the people could not participate in the handling of their own affairs just as a few who tried even against all odds, do not have any good stories to tell as they were either ripped off of their resources or utterly neglected. The result of this bravado of callousness is the terrible shape of our State and her Citizens today. No doubt, the times of that ultimate decision is here again and the question is, is there someone bringing to the table, a total paradigm shift from the callousness and governmental decadence we have witnessed so far?

“…Once I identify a talent that would be of significant help to move our State forward, I will never hesitate to work with such a person…”; “…Your input into the State economy is very significant..We will go into Collaboration with you..You are stakeholders in Cross River proejct…”; “…In appreciation of our limitations, we shall set up an Advisory Council that will be composed of seasoned, accomplished and knowledgeable Cross River Sons and Daughters to catalyze our much needed regeneration, reorganization and re-engineering..” Senator Prof Sandy Onor 2020. These Statements made at different occasions by the only credible frontline gubernatorial aspirant in our State, go a long way to demonstrated beyond any reasonable doubt, his willingness and preparedness to run a participatory Government where Cross Riverians would reclaim and rebuild Cross River and make her a pride State.

Yes, Senator Prof Sandy Onor is a firm believer in participatory Governance. This he demonstrated starting from his early year at the national assembly through constituency briefing and interactions. Participatory Government is indeed not alien to the person of R
Senator Prof Sandy Onor and there is indeed no doubt that under his watch, Cross River people will no longer be spectators in the handling of their affairs rather active participants. His determination to tap into our abundant human resources towards reclaiming and rebuilding our State, is indeed commendable and a right step in the right direction. The question is, how ready are we to key into his optimism of reclaiming and rebuilding Cross River State and making her a proud home for all of us; how prepared are we to answer this clarion call?

Vote integrity! Vote Credibility! Vote Preparedness! Vote Participatory Governance! Support Sandy Onor for Governor Cross River State!

Sandy Onor Unveils Blue Print For Good Governance, Accountability And Sustainability

    CATERPILLAR MOVEMENT

    PROJECT CROSS RIVER STATE 2023!

OUR BLUEPRINT FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE, SUSTAINABILITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY IN OUR STATE.

As a follow up to our decision to lay to rest the infertile issue of zoning. The Caterpillar movement hereby release to cross riverians and indeed members of the public details of our vision(blue print) come 2023.

    PREAMBLE:
With the advent of democratic rule in 1999, Cross River State was blessed with visionary and dynamic leadership that facilitated steady development of the state in all sectors. Our dear state was moved from the fringes and placed firmly in the development map of Nigeria. The state became a leading destination for tourism, investment and international donor funding.
The public sector was vibrant and efficient with the formulation of virile policies and the establishment of strong institutions.
Cross River state was viewed nationwide as a model for development planning.
The private flourished as government provided the enabling environment, particularly through the establishment of a virile security architecture with accompanying infrastructure outlay.

Regrettably, we have in the last six years undoubtedly derailed from the trajectory by running a system that is hudely rich in theory but lacking in practice.

Accordingly, we shall move forward ,vigorously evaluate the financial status of the state and build our plans upon the reality that we find ourselves.
We shall carry our people along with transparency,
    respect and inclusiveness.
We shall together set realistic targets and pursue the actualization of these goals with all the intellect, vision, contacts, that we will collectively harness.
Our policies shall be people oriented..
Our vision is to restore our state to a path of progressive growth. To this end, we propose to implement a RESTORATION AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM through which we intend to achieve our vision.

    OUR RESTORATION AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM.

Our restoration and development program shall be hinged on the development of the following thematic areas in the socio-economic and political environment of our state
    1. Security
    2.The Economy
    3. Human development
    4. Infrastructure development
    5. The civil service and local government
    6. Tourism
The security and safety of the people shall be the primary purpose of our administration. We shall put in place dogged security measures aimed at protecting lives and properties of our people with a view to ensuring that all citizens, residents and investors carry out their legitimate businesses in a crime free environment.
We shall in subsequent editions bring you detailed measures at implementing our policy iniatives
May God help cross river state.
