  • Chris Agara Campaign Council Urges APC To Conduct The Affairs Of The Party With The Most Excellent Intentions To Ensure Just And Fair Process

    05/05/2022

    The Honourable State Chairman
    All Progressives Congress
    Murtala Mohammed Highway
    Calabar

    Dear Honourable Chairman,

A NECESSARY WORD OF CAUTION AT THIS CRITICAL POINT.

We at the CHRIS AGARA CAMPAIGN ORGANISATION wish to make our humble contributions to the ongoing conversation about the modalities for electing (or chosing) a Governorship Candidate for our great party in the runnup to the general elections of 2023 as follows.

    1. That we understand that State Executive Committee of the Party as moderated by the State Caucus of the Party is the highest decision making organ of the Party in our dear state.

    2. That we recognise that the powers exercised by these bodies should also be guided at all times by the Electoral Act (as amended) and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

    3. Taking due cognisance of all the above therefore, we wish to encourage the Party to take only the decisions that will help in providing a level playing ground for all aspirants to the office of Governor in order to avoid unnecessary disputation as a result of the conduct of its affairs and the Primaries elections at this critical time.

    4. It is our humble view at the CHRIS AGARA CAMPAIGN ORGANISATION that the Party should be cognisant of the fact that whereas the Party and its organs have the legitimate responsibility to conduct the Primaries of the Governorship race without let or hindrance, the participants also reserve the right to protect themselves and their rights within the ambit of the law.

    5. We urge the Party to take serious notice of the fact that our Principal, CHIEF ( BARR.) CHRIS AGARA could not be present at the Aspirants Meeting of April 26th instance as a result of logistics challenges and was not allowed to be represented.

    6. That having not been at that meeting and having been denied representation, CHIEF (BARR.) CHRIS AGARA could not be bound by any decision or agreements thereof and will not subject himself to same.

    7. We urge the leaders of our great Party to strive always to conduct the affairs of the Party with the most excellent intentions to ensure just and fair processes that would allow the legitimate emergence of a capable, popular and responsible Candidate for our dear Party even as we prepare to face up to the expected bullish challenge of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

    8. While we remain loyal to and respectful of all legitimate authorities appertaining to the forthcoming exercise, we are also fully prepared to protect ourselves against any decisions or acts that may appear calculated to subvert the rules of the contest in favour of one or the other Candidate.

    Respectfully Yours,

    Richard Ogbeche Esq.
    DG, CHRIS AGARA CAMPAIGN ORGANISATION.

  • Gov Nyesom Wike Visits Katsina State, Harps On National Unity

    By Joseph Ndifon

Rivers State Governor, HE Barr Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has enjoined Nigerians to work cohesively for the development of the country while calling on politicians across political divide to cultivate the virtue of prioritising national unity above personal interest.

He stated this during a consultation visit to his Katsina State counterpart, Rt Hon Aminu Bello Masari at the Katsina State Government House, Katsina.

Governor Wike, a frontline presidential aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who was in Katsina State to meet with party leaders and delegates ahead of the PDP National Convention later this month also deemed it proper to visit and notify Governor *Masari* of his presidential ambition.

“I am formally informing you that I am making myself available to run for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. And, I am here today to talk to delegates who will make it possible on the 28th and 29th of this month, which is our National Convention”.

“We cannot say because you don’t belong to our party and therefore, we shouldn’t give you that respect, no, it is not allowed. By our tradition, party cannot divide us. Party is a vehicle that conveys you to your destination”.

In his response, Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State said it was gratifying that the Rivers State Governor is aspiring for the exalted office in Nigeria.

“You have contributed immensely in your own way to the development of the political process in Nigeria. And, we really thank God people like you come from that part of the country; it shows confidence in the oneness of Nigeria and the political process”.

The former Speaker of the House of Representatives further explained that he remained eternally grateful to the people of Rivers State for the immense support given to him while at the helm of affairs in the Green Chambers.

“During my days as Speaker of the House of Representatives, if there is any one State I could count 100 percent support, it was Rivers State and we remain friends up till this moment. So anybody coming from Rivers State to wherever I am, he/she is welcome into my personal house or official residence”.

While in Katsina, the incoming President also visited Hajia Aya Dada Yar’Adua, mother of former President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, a woman who has not only been a blessing to Nigeria, but a Matriach in the history and political development of our Nation.

The massive crowd as shown is a reflection of the support and legitimacy he enjoys across the states of the Federation, beyond party lines.

  • If You Have Big Dreams, Do not Date A Boy Or Man Who Has Nothing To Lose BY WOFAI USANI

As a young girl who is growing with potentials, stay away from boys or men who have nothing to lose. Be very intentional about who you date or get involved with. I had rather aimed high and date a man who has something to lose; potentials, who has great dreams and a future not to be toyed with, than settle for any kind of male.
When you see a man who has something to lose you will know; he is that man who has ambition, that man who has big dreams, that man who wants affluence and influence in the society!

Any man who is involved in politics, leadership or a very committed career male, is someone who has something to lose and he will protect you and himself because he has a reputation at stake.

As a lady, getting involved with any guy you see on the street is very deadly. Infact even replying their texts and giving them attention on your Dm is a potential threat to who you want to be in future!

It is normal for guys to like you, it shows you are attractive. What is not normal is you giving any tom, dick and harry attention on your Dms! You need to set a standard for yourself, Know the kind of men you want to interact and be around wirh!

You will be call rude, proud, but if you don’t give any kind of nigga attention, it is a healthy pride! You don’t need that!

You have the inaleanable right and power to choose and set a standard for yourself. I don’t give my attention to any kind of man, call me what you want, but i have big eyes!! I only give my attention to influence, affluence, potentials and big dreams.

You may just want to play around and have some fun, but I tell you the chances of you getting blackmailed are very high!! Learn to build a defense, your defense might be; being strict, difficult or stubborn but have one!!!
Don’t, I mean do not get involved with anyone just because he is handsome and dripping fashion. The biggest blackmailers are hidden under good looks and great fashion sense. Be very selective! I choose and select the men I give my attention to on a very high level! I have standards! You cannot pick me, I do the picking! You need to have vision! If you don’t have a reputation to protect nor hold yourself in high esteem you cant have my attention.

You are going to be great soon, sex with one wrong person can destroy everything you built.

Sip and meditate on this piece
Have very wonderful morning and a great day ahead.

  • WPFD: ACROJ Commends Journalists Who Risk Their Lives Daily In The Course Of Their Duty

    Press Release

As journalists across the globe celebrate World Press Freedom Day 2022 with the Theme: Journalism under digital siege, the Association of Cross River Online Journalists (ACROJ) commends all journalists who have stake so much to keep the world informed and expose various ills in the society.

ACROJ also lauds the Federal Government of Nigeria and Cross River State Government for dropping all charges against journalists who have stood trial for various charges in the state.

The World Press Freedom Day (WPFD) is an annual celebration of Press Freedom, observed on 3 May every year.

The celebration organized by the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), serves as a reminder to governments of the need to respect their commitment to press freedom and is also a day of reflection among media professionals about issues of Press Freedom and professional ethics.

While this year’s World Press Freedom Day theme “Journalism under digital siege,” spotlights the multiple ways in which journalism is endangered by surveillance and digitally-mediated attacks on journalists, and its consequences on public trust in digital communications, ACROJ seizes the opportunity the day affords to recall the dismissal of all charges against her Board of Trustees Chairman, Citizen Agba Jalingo by the Cross River State Government, on the 21st Day of March, 2022. We commend the state government for acknowledging that they made a grave error in arresting Mr. Jalingo and other members of ACROJ.

The association also lauds journalists who risk their lives daily in the course of executing their duty, urging them to keep up the courage and maintain professional ethics to ensure that the public is furnished with credible information on a consistent basis.

As the union continues to tow the path of truth, justice and fairness, we also call for continued synergy with all relevant stakeholders to ensure the fulfilment of a decent society.
