Ayade’s Former Chief Of Staff, Hon Martins Orim Bags African Leadership Award

Former Chief of Staff to the governor of Cross River, Chief Martin Orim, Thursday in Abuja received the African Leadership Award for Outstanding Public Service.

The awards ceremony which was organized by United Nations and European Union affiliated African Indigenous Centre for Sustainable Development Goals (AIC4SDG) was in recognition of Orim’s ‘selfless service to humanity’ and ‘quest to foster a just society’.

According to AIC4SDG, the award was also to recognize ‘the recipient’s flagship humanism which has helped to not only transform communities but has further impacted the lives of thousands in many positive ways’.

Chief Martin Orim who dedicated the award to his late father, G.F.O Orim said he would continue to bring succor to the down trodden and the less privileged in the society, adding that he was always fulfilled helping the destitute.

“I had since made a commitment to God that the only way I will continue to thank and appreciate him is to continue to help people. I will continue to be compassionate. I will continue to do charitable deeds as long as I breathe. It gives me profound joy to put smiles on people’s faces; and to see people grow and prosper through my benevolence. That is for me, the best service to God. I believe strongly that service to humanity is service to God. And this kind of service is what I will continue to render”, he remarked.

While pledging to further expand the scope and capacity of the GFO Orim foundation, Hon. Orim said the award was an inspiration to touch more lives, families and communities in the course of time.

He thanked the African Indigenous Centre for Sustainable Development Goals (AIC4SDG) for finding him deserving of the recognition and sued for partnership with the organization to further assuage the sufferings of people.

Chief Martin Orim who is the APC senatorial candidate for Cross River North was accompanied to the event by the Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey as well as key Special Advisers to governor Ben Ayade, which included Hon. Emma Bepeh, Hon. Boniface Ishamali and Hon. Agness Atsu, as well as Hon. Sunny Martins amongst others.
