By Elijah Ugani – Calabar

The Chairman of the Cross River State Covod 19 and Commissioner for Health, Dr. Betta Edu has constituted a mobile court on Tuesday in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.

Edu held that “people are playing a fast one by wearing the mask at the point of enforcement team and then remove it shortly after leaving the enforcement point”

Edu further noted that six of the monitoring team and mobile court will be in Calabar while one each will be at the urban development centers across the state.

Her words “The mobile courts will try any nose mask violator and sentence offenders in accordance with the approved law. People have been avoiding the points were the taskforce members are situated, what we do now is to have complete mobile taskforce with mobile courts where they can situate anywhere and try offenders of nose mask violators”

Recall that the governor had imposed a fine of N300,000(Three Hundred Thousand Naira) only for taxis that carry passengers without nose mask while anyone found walking the streets without nose masks should be quarantined for 14 days.
