The Chairman of Obudu Local Government Area, Hon Peter Undiandeye PhD, has expressed profound gratitude to the Chief of Defence Intelligence, Lieutenant General Emmanuel A. Undiandeye, following his recognition at the gala night marking the successful conclusion of the Geographical and Cultural Tour of Foreign Defence Advisers and Defence Attachés accredited to Nigeria.
The event, organised by the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA), was held at the Obudu Centurion Hotel and Resort and brought together foreign defence representatives on a cultural and geographical tour aimed at showcasing Nigeria’s rich heritage and strengthening international relations.
Speaking after receiving the recognition, the Obudu Council Chairman described the honour as a reflection of the collective efforts of the people of Obudu in demonstrating exceptional hospitality and creating a memorable experience for the visiting delegation.
“It was a privilege to join the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, represented by the Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Dr. Peter Odey, in hosting this distinguished international delegation. This recognition belongs not only to me but to the good people of Obudu, whose warmth, peaceful disposition, and hospitality made the visit a remarkable success,” he said.
The chairman also commended Governor Otu for his visionary leadership and sustained commitment to positioning Cross River as Nigeria’s premier tourism destination. He acknowledged the Deputy Governor for representing the governor at the event and appreciated the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Anthony Owan-Enoh, for his support in ensuring the success of the historic engagement.
He further praised the Special Adviser to the Governor on Obudu Ranch Resort, Mr. Sunday Michael, as well as the Cross River State Department of Culture and Heritage, for their professionalism and dedication in showcasing the unique attractions and cultural heritage of Obudu to the international visitors.
The chairman noted that the successful hosting of the foreign defence advisers and defence attachés further underscored Obudu’s growing reputation as a destination for international tourism, cultural exchange, and strategic engagement.
As the delegates departed for their respective countries, he wished them safe travels and thanked them for choosing Obudu as part of their Nigerian experience.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to promoting peace, security, tourism, and strategic partnerships that will drive sustainable development and improve the quality of life for residents, while expressing optimism that the distinguished visitors would return to experience Obudu’s natural beauty and renowned hospitality once again.
