  • Jarigbe, Valentine Abiji Doles Out N900,000 And Other Food Items To Ating-Ibil Community

     

    Distinguished Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe representing the good people of Cross River North Senatorial District and the managing director of Valington Homes and Properties and Chairman/CEO of Valabi Shelters Limited Abuja, Amb. Dr Valentine Abiji and her amiable wife yesterday in Ating-Ibil community of ogoja LGA distributed food items and the cash gift for the celebration of Christmas.

    The items which include; bags of rice of 25kg, and 50kg, 1 Cow, Cartons of vegetable oil , 50 pieces of rappers and a total sum of N900,000, was shared among Youths, Elders and women in the community for the celebration of Christmas.

    Presenting the gift items to various leaders of the community, Amb. Valentine Abiji on behalf of the Distinguished Senator beckon on each member of the community to embrace one another in love, peace and harmony.

    He encouraged youths and Elders to shun discrimination among members in the community as such act hindered growth and development in a society. He encouraged them to remain law abiding and to most importantly hold on to God’s words and act like Christians who are truly practicing and following God’s words.

    In the same vein, his amiable wife, Amb. Dr. Mrs Valentine Nma, during the distribution of rappers to the women, preached on love and unity, in her words “Women are the pillars of each family and so, women should be steadfast and always put their trust in God to make every impossibilities possible in their respective families”.

    She urged all women to remain prayerful and always be a source of blessing to their husbands and children.

    The leaders of the community thanked their great sons and dear wives for the kind gesture and pray for everlasting favor and blessings towards them as they continue changing and touching life’s both at home and in diaspora.

  • Jarigbe Splashes N13.4m And 480 Bags Of Rice On Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency

     

    The Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, DSSRS, has dolled out the sum of N13.4 million and 480 bags of rice for the celebration of Christmas, in Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency.

    The lawmaker made the pronouncement when he visited the Stakeholders and party leaders of Yala 1 & 2 State Constituencies to celebrate Christmas with them.

    The 14 wards of Yala LGA were allocated the sum of N500,000 and 20 bags of rice each, while the leadership and stakeholders were all given 100,000 for their transport to the meeting venue.

    Also, the 10 political wards of Ogoja LGA were allocated the cash sum of N500,000 and 20 bags of rice each.

    The lawmaker, recognized for his generosity, stated that the primary aim of the Christmas gifts is to ease the hardships faced by those struggling to afford basic sustenance.

    He enjoined them to be united and steadfast, for the progress and development of the Federal Constituency.

    Speaking in appreciation of the gesture, the leadership of the two local government areas appreciated the lawmaker, noting that they have never had it so good thereby pledging their unflinching support for him.

  • Sen & Mrs Jarigbe Agom Preaches Love, Hope And Charity On Christmas

     

    As Christians all over the world mark the nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Senator Representing Cross River North Senatorial District and his amiable wife, Sen. & Mrs Jarigbe Agom, have urged them to keep their hope and faith alive despite challenges confronting them, the country and the world at large.

    In a press statement signed by the lawmaker, on behalf of his family admonished Christians, particularly from Cross River North and other Nigerians, to not just celebrate with faith, hope and charity, but to exemplify all the three(3) important virtues in the course of the celebration by spreading love and following the teachings of Jesus Christ.

    “Christmas is a time to celebrate the love in our hearts and the special people in our lives”.

    “Remember, the Christmas period is not only about celebration but it is a period of both joy and sober reflection. Therefore, we urge you to borrow a leave from the life of Jesus Christ and follow his teachings.”

  • Jarigbe Visits Displaced Belegete  Constituents In Obanliku Donates 2M And 50 Bags Of Rice

     

    The Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, DSSRS, has visited the displaced victims of Belegete Community of Obanliku Local Government Area of Cross River State to sympathize with them.

    About 20 thousand displaced families from Belegete village of Obanliku LGA are currently seeking refuge in Amana, Becheve and Obudu Mountains Resort, following an invasion from Ambazonian separatists from Southern Cameroon.

    The lawmaker donated 50 bags of rice, a cash sum of N2 million and promised immediate medical intervention to cushion the effect of the dehumanizing conditions of the victims.

    He condemned the abductions and killing of the village head of Akornyapeni, Chief Ogweshi Francis and other indigenes of the community and promised to call the attention of all necessary government agencies for the deployment of adequate security, and further encouraged the victims to remain united especially during Christmas and beyond.

    Responding, the Chiefs, elders and other members of the community appreciated the Senator for the visit. They highlighted the fact that he is the first politician to have remembered them by facilitating the installation of solar street lights and prayed that God should continue to bless him.

    In his entourage were; Chief Udie Mike, Hon. Pius Ashakia, Mr. Egar Mgbantul, Awu Rufus, Dr. Valentine Abiji, Adie Ishiekwen, Timothy Nanung, Boniface Adie amongst others.

  • Cosmos Okiri Thanks Sen Jarigbe Agom For Appointment, Celebrate Christmas With His Ward

     

    A former PDP aspirant for the Obudu State Constituency position in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Mr Cosmas Okiri has commended Sen Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, senator representing Cross River Northern Senatorial District, for finding him worthy to serve as a Legislative Aide.

    Okiri made the commendation at the Utugwang North Secretariat of the People’s Democratic Party PDP, Ukwutia in Obudu Local Government Area of Cross River State.

    In his words “I want to thank Sen Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe for finding me worthy to serve as his legislative aide.

    “I have come to share with you the little that I have in the spirit of the season and to inform you that our senator has remembered Utugwang North. My appointment is your appointment and I’m holding this on your behalf and we will continue to support Sen Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe.

  • Jarigbe, Akpanke Splashes 30M On OBO Federal Constituency, Promises Effective Representation

    Christmas celebration for Cross River Northern Senatorial District took an unprecedented dimension as the duo of Sen Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe and Hon Peter Akpanke teamed up to interface with their constituents of Obudu/Bekwarra/Ogoja federal constituency to thank them for the support during the 2023 general elections.

    Speaking during the interface, which held in the different local government areas on Saturday December 23rd 2023, Sen Jarigbe Agom described the support shown them during the last election as an act of God, wondered how they would have won an incumbent Governor, sitting House of Reps member, Chief of staff, eight commissioners, countless number of appointees, five local government chairmen, and about Fifty councillors.

    Jarigbe thanked especially the people of Obudu who truly desmostrates and proved that a good friend is better than a bed brother.
    In his words “I want to thank you all for the support. When I see the support we got from Obudu despite contesting the election with your son who was a sitting governor, I told myself that Gov Ben Ayade must has performed abysmally poor.

    “We won election in Obudu. I know what happened in Obudu Urban ward 1, same thing happened at Alege/Ubang Ward. They changed our results and I say allow them. Even if they hade requested for additional five thousand votes, we will have gladly given them. That was exactly what happened at Yala, we dashed them extra five thousand votes.

    “In the last dispensation, I was working with two opposing members in the house of representatives. Thank you for standing strong to reject appointments, mouth watering offers, even in the face of threats, physical assault which has never happened in our political history.

    “With this your brother Hon Peter Akpanke, who you willing voted to support me, I assure you that you’re yet to see the dividends of your trust in us. The days ahead promises to be great. Thank you all as I wish you a merry Christmas and happy new year in advance”

    Hon Peter Akpanke during the tour of Bekwarra, Obudu and Obanliku local government areas, assured constituents of his readiness to serve them to the best of his ability.

    Akpanke thank God that Sen Jarigbe Agom is undoubtedly a pace setter and has elated to mentor him and pledged to raise the needed alarm that will bring government attention to the plight of his constituents.

    Speaking at his country home, the People’s Democratic Party PDP State Chairman, Mr venatius Ikem Esq, thanked the trio of Sen Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe and Hon Peter Akpanke for finding time to celebrate the Christmas with their constituents despite their busy schedules.

    Mr Ikem used the to congratulate and welcomed Sen Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, to the league of a very few Nigerians who successfully dismantled sitting governors, averred that he had previously warned former governor Ayade to leave the stage with honor, but he refused and today the rest is history.

    The Chairman commended Hon Peter Akpanke, connecting with the constituents charged him to maintain the tempo as constituents are in dear need of a representation that reassures them of a promising future even as the economy is biting hard.

    Ikem noted that APC in Cross River Northern Senatorial District is in the opposition urged party faithfuls to go and celebrate the Christmas as victors, and should extend a hand of benevolence to other parties.

    The sum of 30 Million naira and 900 bags of rice was shared to the 30 wards that makes up Obudu/Bekwarra/Obanliku federal constituency as each political ward received 1 Million naira and 30 bags of rice.

  • 2024 Budget: Jarigbe Urges FG To Transit From Reliance On Oil To Dependence On Natural Gas

     

    The Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, DSSRS, has reiterated the need for the federal government to make deliberate efforts to transit from reliance on oil to dependence on natural gas, through effective and transparent budgetary provisions, in a bid to turn the fortunes of the nation’s economy.

    The lawmaker stated this on Monday when the joint Senate/House of Reps Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream, Downstream & Gas), received a delegation from the Ministry of Petroleum Resources led by the two Ministers of State, Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri, Ph.D and Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo for the defense of the Ministry’s 2024 Budget Proposal, at the National Assembly Complex.

    Senator Jarigbe who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Gas and Lead Chairman of the joint committee also noted that, the budget did not sufficiently address the President’s commitment to alleviate the impact of fuel subsidy removal by introducing palliative.

    He criticized the allocation of 5.8 billion Naira as the capital budget for a ministry crucial to achieving the Natural Gas Revolution Policy and easing the hardship faced by the masses, describing it as inadequate and un-serious.

    “As a parliament, we do not align ourselves with running government programmes in disregard of the provisions of the Law.

    “We cannot achieve what Mr. President wants, without providing for the CNG-Project and other very important projects in the 2024 Appropriations Act” he said.

    In response, Mr. Ekperikpe Ekpo, the Minister of State for Petroleum (Gas), revealed that the ministry received an allocation of N9.64 billion for 2024, with breakdowns for personnel, overhead costs, and capital expenditure.

  • Jarigbe Congratulates Chief Of Defence Intelligence, Calls For Improved Security Architecture In Cross River North

     

    The Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, DSSRS, has hailed the appointment of the new Chief of Defence Intelligence, Major General Emmanuel Akomaye Parker Undiandeye.

    The lawmaker noted that the appointment of the CDI was a product of hard work, commitment, dedication and outstanding professionalism.

    Senator Jarigbe, while receiving the Major General to his National Assembly office, wished him the very best in his new office, and highlighted the strategic relationship between Cross River North constituents and Intelligence. He also called for improved security architecture in a bid to avert crisis and communal unrest in and around the Senatorial District.

    Major General Undiandeye appreciated the Distinguished Senator for the warm reception and also used the opportunity to condole the lawmaker on the demise of his brother in-laws. He promised to be a good ambassador of Cross River North Senatorial District in the course of his service to the nation.

  • Nigeria’s Potential In Gas And Renewable Energy Is Vast And Must Be Harnessed Effectively – Agom

     

    The Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, DSSRS, has stated that Nigeria’s potential in gas and renewable energy is vast, and must be harnessed effectively by all relevant stakeholders in the oil and gas sector.

    The lawmaker made the remark earlier today as he attended the 2nd edition of “Domestic Gas And Gas Infrastructure Summit (DGGIS’23)” organized by the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI), Nigerian Gas Association (NGA) and the Association of Local Distributors of Gas.

    Senator Jarigbe, who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Gas, also stated that he is acutely aware of the pivotal role that the gas industry plays in the economic growth and energy security of the nation.

    The summit themed: “Building A Sustainable, Resilient Gas And Renewable Energy Sector In Nigeria And Beyond” also witnessed the presence of the Hon. Minister for State, Petroleum Resources (Gas), Rt. Hon. Ekperipe Ekpo, the President of the ACCI, Dr. Abubakar Al-Mutaba, and other stakeholders in the energy sector.

  • Jarigbe Agom Facilitates Rehabilitation of Refreshment Spot at Calabar Sports Club

     

    The Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, DSSRS, has facilitated the rehabilitation and upgrading of the refreshment spot at Canaan City Sports Club (Calabar Sports Club), located at Calabar – Calabar Roundabout, Calabar, Cross River State.

    The facility which previously housed the club’s gym, a mini-bar and other indoor games has suffered years of neglect, prompting the lawmaker’s intervention.

    Senator Jarigbe noted that, infrastructure is key in sports development and will further provide the facilities to harness the rich sporting talents within and outside the shores of Calabar as well as, boost economic activities in and around the facility.

    “To enable the State compete favourably at the global stage, there is need to have standard sporting facilities where abundant talents can be discovered and nurtured to stardom” he added.

    Recall that the lawmaker had facilitated the construction of a Mini-Sports Stadium and Recreational Centre, in Cross River North Senatorial District.
