    Group Endorses President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Bassey Otu, Sen Jarigbe Agom for 2027

     

    Cross River North stakeholders resident in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), a group of leaders across political divides, professional backgrounds and community leadership positions, have endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, H. E Senator Prince Bassey Otu and Distinguished Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe to continue in office till 2031.

    Members of the group bared their minds in a communique read at the end of the their Endorsement Rally on Saturday, during which they reviewed the trajectory of governance under the leadership of the President, Governor and Distinguished Senator in the past years, especially in view of the evolving national political landscape.

    In a communique which was presented by the Liaison Officer to the Governor, House of Assembly, Hon. Cynthia Nkasi, the group restated her commitment to the Leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, H. E. Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu and Distinguished Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe.

    1. The group expressed its profound appreciation to Senator Jarigbe Agom
    Jarigbe for his selfless movement and integration into the APC, which has helped to position the Zone for greater benefits, both from the state and Federal Government.

    2. The group thanked Senator Jarigbe’s
    commitment to providing exceptional, broad based and quality representation for the people of the Zone and for complimenting the Governor, H. E Senator
    Prince Bassey Edet Otu People’s First Agenda in the State.

    3. The Group appreciates the Senator for facilitating, executing and completing projects that are evenly sited across the Northern Senatorial District.

    4. The group acknowledged and appreciated Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe for his consistent commitment to the education of our young ones, especially
    the facilitation and placement of Northern Cross River indigenes in various establishments, the facilitation of overseas scholarship for our young ones and the Jari Bursary Scheme.

    5. The Group further expressed their appreciation to him for the political visibility and recognition that the zone enjoys since his election as Senator,
    representing the Senatorial District.

    6. In view of the above, we the stakeholders of Cross River North resident in Abuja, have come out to encourage Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, to remain focused on delivering on his mandate and to seek re-election so that he can continue to deliver quality representation to the people.

    7. The group expressed their Satisfaction with the developmental strides of Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu’s administration in the state and commended his ongoing efforts at completing all projects in the zone, initiated by the past administration, while equally noting the bold economic reforms initiated by the APC led Federal Government under the leadership of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

    8. The group therefore, unanimously, endorse Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe to return to the Senate for the benefit of the people of Northern Cross River;
    endorse the second term bid of Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu as governor and that of his Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

    9. The group expressed her unalloyed support and commitment to engaging with other groups, associations and constituents of Cross River North Senatorial District to drum support for their re-election as well as support all candidates of the APC in the 2027 elections.

    The Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, has congratulated the newly promoted Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Margaret Agebe Ochalla, on her promotion and appointment as the head of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID).

    Senator Jarigbe described the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of her hard work, discipline, and many years of dedicated service to the Nigeria Police Force and the nation at large. He noted that DIG Ochalla’s promotion comes at a time when the country needs experienced, forthright, and patriotic officers to strengthen internal security and deepen public confidence in law enforcement.

    While welcoming the newly decorated DIG and her team to his National Assembly office, the lawmaker prayed for God’s guidance, wisdom, and strength as she assumes her new and higher responsibilities in service to the nation.

    In her remarks, DIG Margaret Agebe Ochalla expressed appreciation to Senator Jarigbe for adjusting his flight schedule to attend and be part of her decoration ceremony. She also thanked him, Hon. Godwin Offiono, and other leaders for their continued support and commitment to the growth and prosperity of Cross River North.

    DIG Ochalla was promoted to the prestigious rank of Deputy Inspector-General of Police last week and was officially decorated today at the Peacekeeping Hall, Force Headquarters, in Abuja. She hails from Yala Local Government Area of Cross River State.

    The Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, has facilitated the construction of six classroom blocks across three schools in the district.

    Driven by a passionate commitment to improving the standard of education and providing a conducive learning environment for pupils and students in Cross River North, the Senator stated that he will continue to attract life-changing projects to ensure that the basic needs of his constituents are met at every opportunity.

    He emphasized that every child deserves the right to education, healthcare, protection, and a safe, nurturing environment in which to grow and develop.

    The beneficiary schools are:

    1. Community Secondary School, Igbekurikor, Ugaga Ward (Yala LGA)

    2. St. Paul’s Primary School, Ukpada, Utugwang South (Obudu LGA)

    3. Community Primary School, Ubepa, Otukpuru Ward (Bekwarra LGA)

    The construction sites were officially handed over to JRB Construction Company, represented by Engr. Tola T.J., by the Constituency Officer, Mr. Egar Mgbantul, on behalf of the Senator.

    The Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, has been inaugurated as one of the 92 members of the Central Coordination Committee for the 2026 National Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

    The party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, inaugurated the committee at the party’s secretariat in Abuja.

    He stated that the committee members were carefully selected based on their proven integrity, wealth of experience, and commitment to the ideals of the party to deliver a convention that will be transparent, inclusive, credible, and beneficial to members.

    Speaking on behalf of the committee, its Chairman, Bello Masari, expressed profound gratitude to the party leadership and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for finding them worthy to serve.

    He noted that the committee’s mandate is clear and assured that members would approach the task with fairness and strict adherence to the party’s constitution, adding that the committee would work closely with the National Working Committee and other relevant organs of the party to ensure a peaceful, credible, and successful 2026 National Convention.

    In addition to his role on the Central Coordination Committee, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe was also appointed as a member of the Finance Sub-Committee in recognition of his sterling leadership qualities and contributions to the growth of the party in Nigeria.

    Jarigbe Facilitates Construction of Ibil–Ekwaro Road in Ogoja LGA

     

    The Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, has facilitated the construction of the Ibil–Ekwaro Road in Ogoja Local Government Area.

    The project was officially handed over to JRB Construction, the firm awarded the contract, by the Constituency Officer, Mr. Egar Mgbantul, on behalf of the Senator.

    Speaking during the handover ceremony, Mgbantul charged the contractor to ensure the delivery of a high-quality and durable project capable of standing the test of time. He emphasized the importance of adhering to specifications and completing the project within the stipulated timeframe.

    The Ibil–Ekwaro Road serves as a vital link between the Ibil and Ekajuk communities. Upon completion, it is expected to significantly improve access and mobility for residents, most of whom are engaged in agriculture. The road will enhance the transportation of farm produce to markets, stimulate local economic activities, and improve overall socio-economic development in the area.

    Constituents have expressed appreciation to the lawmaker for facilitating the project, offering prayers for continued wisdom, strength, and success in his service to the people.

    The senator representing Cross River Senatorial District, Sen Jarigbe Agom, has called on his supporters to refrain from making mastic statements about the member representing Obudu/Bekwarra/Obanliku federal constituency, Hon Peter Akpanke, and insisted that the differences between them have been resolved.

    In a release made available to Theluminenews, indicates that the senator dissociates from those damaging comments and has requested for sanity.

    The release reads in full “The attention of the Senator Representing Cross River North Senatorial District, has been drawn to the nasty comments being circulated in the social media about the member representing Obudu/Bekwarra/Obanliku Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. Those comments are being linked to the Senators protégées. The Senator has dissociated himself from such damaging comments and has requested for sanity.

    “No supporter of the Senator should make further comments on the feud between the Senator and the House of Representatives member for OBO. He has stated that the issues have been resolved and the Lawmakers are all working together as members of the APC.

    APC Appoints Otu, Jarigbe Into Convention Central Planing Committee

     

     

    Cross River State Governor and Sen Jarigbe Agom, senator representing Cross River North Senatorial district have been appointed into the 73- man All Progressives Congress (APC) national Convention Central planning Committee.

    The release sighted by Theluminenews, indicates that the 2026 APC Convention committee is headed by Governor Hope Uzodimma with all APC Governors, Senate President, Chief of Staff to the President Tinubu, and other party stalwarts.

    The leadership of APC recently released schedule of activities for the 2026 ward, local government, zonal and national convention in pursuant to Article 11 of the party constitution.

    According to the time table, Ward Congress will hold on Thursday, February 19, 2026, local government Congress February 19, 2026, Onal Congress, State Congress Saturday, March 7, 2026, Zonal Congress Saturday, March 18, 2026 and National Convention Wednesday, March 25 ,2026 – Saturday, March 28, 2026.
