    This comes to a total of 39 projects, amounting to N12,011,500,000 (Twelve billion, eleven million, five hundred thousand Naira.)

    Kindly note that these projects do not include the ones budgeted separately in the SDGs and NDDC appropriations; and those that may come up in the supplementary budget. This is applicable to all members of the NASS. Both those I have written their projects and the ones I will still write.

    Go ye and hold your Senator accountable. Monitor and make sure these projects are executed.

    Senate Holds Public Hearing on Sen Jarigbe Agom’s Federal Medical Centre Ogoja Establishment Bill 2023

     

    The Nigerian Senate’s Committee on Health (Secondary and Tertiary) conducted a public hearing on Senator Jarigbe Agom’s Federal Medical Centre Ogoja Establishment Bill 2023 (SB 142) at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja.

    The bill, which has undergone first and second readings at plenary sessions, was referred to the Senate Committee on Health for further public hearing and legislative actions.

    Senator Jarigbe emphasized that the bill aims to establish quality healthcare services by developing necessary infrastructure, ensuring effective, efficient, and affordable healthcare delivery, and implementing a monitoring and evaluation mechanism.

    He added that the proposed medical center is expected to be affiliated with a medical school and academic medical center, providing opportunities for youth to gain professional experience.

    The bill is anticipated to undergo a third reading at plenary and, upon passage, will be forwarded to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for assent.

    The Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, has received the prestigious “Best Performing Senator on Sports Development” award from the Nigerian Sports National Merit Award.

    This recognition acknowledges his significant contributions to sports growth and development in Nigeria, particularly in Cross River North Senatorial District.

    The award, backed by prominent organizations such as the National Sports Commission, Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), Society for Promotion of Sports in Nigeria, Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), and African Union Sports Council, is the most esteemed honor in the Nigerian sports industry.

    Presented by Maj. Gen. Maikano Abdullahi, Vice President of the International Military Sports Council (CISM), the award highlights Senator Jarigbe’s pivotal role in uplifting sports in Nigeria.     The governor of Cross River State Prince Bassey Otu and the Senator representing Cross River North in the National assembly Jarigbe Agom have called for unity among the Bakor people of the State.

    The governor who spoke through the Speaker of the 10th Assembly Elvert Ayambem disclosed this at Alladim Nkum Clan in Ogoja during this year’s Bakor New Yam Festival.

    Governor Otu said political parties should be seen as a ladder and that the Bakor people should know the strength they have is the unity they portray.

    “I stand here of the APC extraction and Senator Jarigbe is of the PDP but when it comes to the unity of Bakor parties are seen as a ladder for development.

    “I came here to honour Senator Jarigbe in solidarity and let our people know that the strength we have as Bakor people is the unity we portray.

    “Senator Jarigbe is the pride of Bakor Nation, has empowered so many people and there is no better humanity than what he is doing”, he said.

    Also speaking, Senator Jarigbe who was honoured by the Bakor Nation said he seeks for unity and the Bakor people can only get better as a people.

    “We have come here as a people and what we seek for is unity among ourselves.

    “There is nothing that can stop us when we are together as a people and we can only get better as a people”, he said.

    He promised to deliver on his promises not just to the Bakor Nation where he had the highest number of votes but the entire northern senatorial district.

    He added that in the 2024 budget there are a number of projects for the the senatorial district which will commence shortly.

    Earlier, Engr. Robert Obeye, the president of the Bakor Nation said the New Yam Festival remains the flagship of their cultural heritage.

    “Bakor New Yam celebration on the 15th of September remains sacrosanct, deeply entrenched and provides indelible platform for our contact.

    ” It is the rallying point of our rich culture and the re-enactment of our communality as well as the resilience and undying spirit of our farmers”, he said.

    He added that it’s also a veritable platform to retrospect on the ensuring legacy of love, unity, team spirit and brotherhood.

    This year’s Bakor New Yam Festival had as theme “If politics divide us, culture should unite us”, and was graced by all the nine clans .

    Constituents of Cross River North Senatorial District have expressed concern over the prevailing harsh economy, declaring that the suffering in the country is becoming unbearable to ordinary Nigerians.

    They made the call on Saturday when they turned out en masse, to welcome Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe to Ogoja.

    While addressing supporters and constituents, Senator Jarigbe appreciated party faithfuls for the reception and their support so far. He took time to brief them on the goings on in Abuja and gave them cash gifts, promising to kickstart his empowerment programs in June.

    The lawmaker promised to give his constituency the best representation while appreciating party loyalists, supporters and the general public.

    The Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, DSSRS, has received the leadership of Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), led by the Chairman of Energy Trade Group, Mr. Chinedu Maduakoh, at the National Assembly.

    The purpose of the visit was to formally appreciate the lawmaker for creating time to attend her event as well as to formally present the communique of the just concluded “Domestic Gas and Gas Infrastructure Summit” which held in Abuja.

    “We are grateful for your continued support to the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry and look forward to greater cooperation and synergy from the 10th Nigerian Senate”, Maduakoh added.

    Responding, Senator Jarigbe, who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Gas, welcomed the team and further pledged the support and co-operation of the Nigerian Senate in a bid to promoting economic and industrial development within the FCT in particular and Nigeria in general.

    Court Of Appeal Affirms Sen Jarigbe’s Election Dismisses Ayade’s petition

     

    In what could be best described as ‘end of the road’ for former Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade, the Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos, on Saturday November 4th 2023, affirmed the election of Distinguished Sen Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, DSSRS, as duly elected Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

    The Appeal Court upheld the victory of Senator Jarigbe in the February 25th 2023 National Assembly election, affirming the judgement of the Tribunal Panel. While dismissing the Petition filed by the Appellants for lacking in merit, the Court also fined Ayade the sun of five Hundred Thousand Naira (N500,000).

    Reacting to the judgement, Senator Jarigbe dedicated his victory to God Almighty for staying true to His words In the book of Lamentations 3:36 & 37. He appreciated his constituents for their commitment and support throughout the electioneering and litigation period, while applauding the Judges for remaining firm, brave and courageous in their decisions.

    Senator Jarigbe stated that, as ever before, he will remain committed to delivering on his infrastructural and human-capital development objectives by the grace of God.

    Ayade Appeals Tribunal Judgement Against Sen Jarigbe Agom

     

    The immediate past governor of Cross River State, Sen Ben Ayade has appealed the Tribunal Judgement which upheld the election victory of Distinguished Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, DSSRS, as Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District

    The Tribunal in a unanimous decision, on September 9th upheld the victory of Senator Jarigbe Agom thereby throwing out the petition of the former governor who challenged the election victory, alleging that the election was marred by irregularities.

    Following the directive of the Court, the appeal will now be heard in the Lagos Division of the Court of Appeal on a date that will be communicated by the Court.
