    Thanksgiving: Hon Peter Akpanke To Complete Church Building In Bendi

    The member representing Obudu/Bekwarra/Obanliku federal constituency, Hon Peter Akpanke has disclosed his intention to complete the ongoing church building project at the Roman Catholic Mission RCM Parish, Bendi in Obanliku Local Government Area.

    Akpanke made this known during a thanksgiving mass held in his honor on Saturday, February 24th 2024 at St John’s Catholic Church Keting, Bendi in Obanliku.

    Hon Akpanke came to God in thanksgiving on the recognition and award conferred on him alongside other sons and daughters of Keting by the Keting community.

    Speaking during the mass, Hon Peter Akpanke noted that “I built this church before I was elected to represent my people and I made a promise to God that if I win the election, I will build churches in my federal constituency to his honor, because without him, I will not have been alive. His grace saw me through with the support of my constituents.

    “Even if I cannot build churches across my federal constituency, let me begin from Obanliku where I come from. Yesterday, I sent a team to do costing for what is required to complete the church at the parish center and I was told it’s about 30m.

    “I will complete that church between now and the end of the year. That church must be used this year. And please father, don’t levy any church member in respect of the project”

    Responding to reminder by the homilist during the mass, Rev Fr Humphrey Udechukwu, on his earlier promise about the dilapidated Obudu – Ikom road that was awarded for reconstruction but abandoned, Akpanke pledged commitment to the advocacy to ensure that contractors return to site to complete the work.

    Speaking on her relationship with Hon Peter Akpanke, the member representing Oyi/Ayamelum federal constituency in the house of representatives, Hon Gwacham Maureen Chinwe, described him as a man with a large heart.

    In her words “I and my colleagues who are present in this event were elected under the labour party. My leader Peter Obi called me to go to Edo state, but I had to make my way to Cross River State to attend this event. You people did not make any mistake in electing him to represent you. Just give him some time, you will see what he do. All he needs now is your support. Forget the fact that we all members. Inside members, members the”

    Giving his vote of thanks, the Clan Head of Keting community, HRH, Utsu Nick Betiang Ayabie, noted that “It is with a deep sense of love, fraternity and utmost gratitude, that the entire Keting community expresses her profound appreciation to all colleagues, friends and well wishers of our illustrious son, Hon. Chief Peter Akpanke, for honoring our invitation to this glorious event. May God sustain your affinity with our son and our community so that the deep affection we have established shall remain our unshakable portion. May he also grant you safe return to your destinations”

    The event also had Hon Peter Udogalanya Aniekwe, member representing Anambra East/West Federal Constituency. Others were: Hon Martins Achadu PhD, representing Yala 2 state constituency, Hon Pius Ashakia and Hon Charles Omang, Members representing Obanliku and Bekwarra in the Cross River State House of Assembly.

    Akpanke Commences 10 Days Medical Outreach For OBO Federal Constituency

    The member representing Obudu/Bekwarra/Obanliku federal constituency, Hon Peter Akpanke, in partnership with The Akpanke Foundation, the Solid Rock Movement and Healia Care and Sacred Heart Hospital Obudu, has staged a 10 days Medical Outreach for his constituents.

    Declaring the event opened at Sacred Heart Hospital Obudu, the Lawmaker reiterated that the event which will be annual event is aimed at lending a hand to the less privileged and the needed to access medical services is one of his deliberate efforts aimed at providing basic services for his constituents.

    Akpanke noted that “I have routinely over the last four years visit this hospital to pay hospital bills for patients who usually discharged and cannot afford their bills irrespective of where they come from”

    Speaking further, the lawmaker averred that “Our people are in need of adequate medical services and we will continue to provide the services that are within our reach at the moment for their benefit”.

    On his part the state Chairman of PDP, Mr Venatius Ikem Esq, called on the public to take advantage of the opportunity to access the free medical services.

    Ikem who assured the people of the dividends of democracy under the watch of Hon Peter Akpanke, stated that the days ahead can only get better.

    Hon Peter Akpanke and the state PDP chairman, took the lead to be examined during the exercise.

    The medical outreach with commenced on the 4th of January, 2024 is to end on January 13th, 2024.

    Some of the early beneficiaries of the services commended the lawmaker for his timely intervention.

    Mrs Mary Ogar referred to Hon Peter Akpanke as God sent when she stated that “Today I’m happy to be a beneficiary of Hon Peter Akpanke, the Solid Rock. The news of the solid rock paying hospital bills for people is everywhere and I told myself that I must come out to assess this services and I’m happy I have been attended to.

    “My prayer for the solid rock is that God should continue to provide for him to enable him reach out to those who are in need”

    Services to be provided include; Blood pressure check, blood sugar check, malaria test, eye examination and distribution of eyewear, surgeries, and health lectures.

    The Akpanke Foundation Condemns The Lynching Of One Suspected Thief In Sankwala, Obanliku Local Government Area of Cross River State.

    The Akpanke Foundation condemns in entirety the barbaric acts perpetrated by some youths who burnt a suspected thief.

    In a release made available to TheLumineNews indicates that the lynched took place in the early hours of Thursday 20th August, 2020.

    The release reads in parts “The Foundation condemns strongly the mob action and tasks youth to strive not to take laws into their hands. They should always work with the security agencies to uphold peace and sanity in Obanliku”

    The incident took place on Thursday morning, at about 2:am. The vigilante members who were on watch on Thursday morning, spotted three suspect trying to do away with a water pump from one of the communities local water pump.

    Meanwhile, Mr Peter Akpanke condemns this act as he said it was a barbaric one, and it unacceptable. He added that the youth of Obanliku should be law abiding and strive not to take laws into their hands, but work with the security agencies to uphold peace and sanity in Obanliku.

    As part of the efforts to cushion the effect of the ravaging pandemic, coronavirus, Mr. Peter Akpanke of the Akpanke’s foundation has stop at nothing to continue to remember his people endlessly.

    Today in Bendi village, The Akpanke foundation distributed palliatives to the entire Obanliku which includes Bags of rice, face masks, hand sanitizers , clutches, cash and lots more valuable gift.

    This is in line with the Mission of his foundation “ Building sustainable communities where everyone has equal opportunity devoid of oppression and poverty “

    Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.

    This comes barely one day as the same foundation had presented a car gift to Mr. Ben Ukukong of Keting, Bendi ward 1 in Obanliku local government area of cross river state.

    As part of activities to mark the thanksgiving of the President/Founder of Peter Akpanke Foundation, Mr Peter Akpanke in appreciation of God’s love and benevolence towards his family, a brand new Toyota Camry pencil light, was presented to Mr Ben Ukukong at Keting, Bendi ward 1 in Obanliku local government area of cross river state.

    Presenting the car on behalf of the President/Founder of Peter Akpanke Foundation, Mr. Chris Ogar urged the beneficiary to use the car judiciously to the service of God and mankind.

    Speaking to TheLumineNews, the philanthropist, Mr. Petrr Akpanke, stated that “I have decided to do this in other to encourage the beneficiary and send a message to the wider society in general and the youths in particular that there is dignity in labour.

    “God has been very faithful to me and my family and I owe him all the thanks, what I owe God can only be redeemed by human, it is on that note that I have decided as part of the activities for my thanksgiving to present the car to Mr. Ben Ukukong.

    “As long as God continue his work on us, we will continue to extend this magnanimity to as many as we can”

    Responding after the car gift, the recipient, Mr. Ben Ukukong who was visibly elated by the gesture, thanked the magnanimous donor, Mr. Peter Akpanke for the show of love, and wondered what he must have done to deserve the gesture.

    He however, promised to follow the footsteps of his donor and posited that “I have learnt a lot today, the act of given. Thank you very much for this lesson, I will try my best. I want to call on all of you here to join me to thank Mr. Peter Akpanke for this car gift”

    The car gift presentation was to kick start the activities to return the glory to God and service to mankind.
