History has been made at the University of Calabar as Professor Florence Abu Undiandeye of the Department of Guidance and Counselling emerges as the first female professor of Obanliku origin.
Her promotion was announced by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Professor Offiong Efana Offiong, during an emergency Senate meeting held on Monday, March 30, 2026, at the Senate Chamber.
In all, 50 academic staff were elevated to the professorial cadre, with 27 promoted to Associate Professor and 23 to full Professor.
