Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yala Local Government Area have passed a vote of confidence in the Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe. They also endorsed him, alongside the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during the endorsement, the Paramount Ruler of Yala, Ogamode Eje Ipoule, described Senator Jarigbe as the divinely chosen leader of Cross River North at this time and urged the people to support him fully.
“Our son, Senator Jarigbe Agom, is our chosen leader. He is a man after God’s heart, just as David was anointed. He has performed creditably well, and we must do our best to return him to the Senate,” the monarch stated.
Also speaking, former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Jude Ogbeche Ngaji, praised the senator’s leadership style, particularly his ability to unite people across the district. He noted that the large turnout of leaders from various locations was a testament to Jarigbe’s inclusive leadership. He called for sustained unity, urging stakeholders to set aside division and work collectively for the progress of Cross River North and the state.
Hon. Ngaji subsequently moved a motion endorsing Senator Jarigbe, Governor Otu, and President Tinubu for the 2027 elections. The motion was seconded by Hon. Cynthia Nkasi.
In their separate remarks, the Local Government Chairman, the APC Chapter Chairman, and other stakeholders commended Senator Jarigbe’s leadership and pledged their continued support. They also expressed appreciation for the infrastructural and human capital development projects he has facilitated in their respective communities.
In his response, Senator Jarigbe thanked the stakeholders for their support and reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people. He called for continued unity and prayers, urging them to remain steadfast in their support for him, the governor, and the president.
“I sincerely appreciate the support you gave me in 2023. Despite party differences, the people of Yala voted for me and I emerged victorious. That victory reflected the collective will of the people, and for that, I remain grateful,” he said.
