Calabar Cultural Carnival 2024: Obudu Council Boss Leads Troupe

The Executive Chairman of Obudu Local Government Council, Hon. Peter Akonfe Undiandeye (KSM) showcased exemplary leadership and cultural pride by leading the Obudu Cultural Troupe in a colourful procession in this years Cultural Carnival held in Calabar.

Addressing the press briefly at the Rabanna Roundabout adjudication point, Hon. Undiandeye reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to promoting and preserving the rich cultural heritage of the Obudu people.

He emphasized that showcasing Obudu’s traditions at the cultural carnival highlights the importance of cultural preservation in fostering peace and unity within the community.

Earlier, the Governor of Cross River State, Sen. Bassey Otu, officially flagged off the 2024 edition of the Cultural Carnival at the Millennium Park, Calabar.

The event was graced by the Deputy Governor of the State, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem, Deputy Speaker of the House, Hon. Sylvester Agabi, members of the House of Assembly, State Chairman of the APC, Alphonsus Eba, Dr. Mathias Angioha, Commissioner for Industries, Hon Agnes Atsu, Commissioner for Sport Development, State Executive Council Members and members of the National Assembly representing the state as well top government officials among others.

The event’s highlight was the captivating cultural displays and parades featuring participating states and all 17 local government areas of the state.
