As the advocacy to end all forms of gender based violence against women and girls in Calabar Municipality, Calabar South and Obanliku Local Government Areas of Cross River State thickens, one of the trained advocates by Mediatrix Development Foundation under the Spotlight Initiative Project, Ayi Eteta Nkang, in partnership with Meduatrix Development Foundation, steps down training for fifty persons in Akim Qua community, Calabar Municipality.
Speaking during the training, the Chief Operation Officer, Mediatrix Development foundation, Mr. Jeffrey Adamade commended the ingenuity of Mrs. Ayi Eteta Nkang for the initiative to cascade the training to all families in Akim community.
Adamade was elated and held that “as an organization, we are fulfilled that our intervention is already having success and having all of you coming to attend this training, I want to charge you to go back to your families and advocate against all forms of gender based violence against women and girls.
“We can not rest until all forms of violence against women and girls as well as harmful practices are completely eradicated or brought to the nearest minimal”
On her part, Mrs. Ayi Eteta Nkang thanked Spotlight through Mediatrix for the opportunity to acquire the knowledge on issues relating to gender based violence against women and girls, and charged the trained advocates to be committed to the cause of ending all forms of violence against women.
One of the participants, Ntuanke Princess Nyang Okon, commended the organizer, Mrs. Ayi Eteta Nkang for the opportunity created for her to gain the knowledge and promised to become a crusader in the community
